THE PLUCK PROJECT
at The Ailey CitiGroup Theater
Celebrating its 18th year in 2016, the Pluck Project is a school-sponsored and independently produced project by the graduating contemporary dance class of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. The contemporary dance seniors will choreograph solos and perform Moonlight Parade by Helen Simoneau as a group piece.
Largely financed through fundraising efforts by the class, the project allows the students to perform for, and network with, established choreographers and directors. All of these are opportunities that can provide a pathway for the dancers to transition from being students to professional working artists.
