Celebrating its 18th year in 2016, the Pluck Project is a school-sponsored and independently produced project by the graduating contemporary dance class of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. The goal of the Pluck Project is to choreograph solos and perform a showcase of contemporary dance works in New York City.
Largely financed through fundraising efforts by the class, the project allows the students to perform for, and network with, established choreographers and directors. All of these are opportunities that can provide a pathway for the dancers to transition from being students to professional working artists.
